Carotid Arteries

Carotid Arteries   are blood vessels that supply blood to the head, neck and brain. One carotid artery is position on each side of the neck. 
 
The internal carotid arteries supply oxygen-rich blood to your brain. The external carotid arteries supply oxygen-rich blood to your face, scalp, and neck.
 
Cholesterol plaques on the inner wall of the carotid artery can lead to strokes.
