Cavernous Sinus Anatomy

Cavernous Sinus Anatomy is one of the dural venous sinuses which located on either side of body of the sphenoid bone and the pituitary fossa between the endosteal and visceral layers of the dura. 
The cavernous sinus receives blood via the superior and inferior ophthalmic veins through the superior orbital fissure and from superficial cortical veins, and is connected to the basilar plexus of veins posteriorly.
