Deltoideus muscle

Deltoideus muscle is a muscle of the shoulder. It acts as the main abductor of the shoulder joint. It`s large, triangular muscle that covers the shoulder and serves mainly to raise the arm laterally.
Origin: Lateral anterior clavicle (clavicular), Lateral border of acromion process of scapula (acromial), spine of scapula (spinous)
Insertion: Deltoid tuberosity of humerus
Action: Abducts arm, flexion and medial rotation (anterior portion), extension and lateral rotation (posterior portion)
