Ectopic Pregnancy Pathology

Ectopic Pregnancy Pathology occurs when the fertilised egg attaches itself outside the cavity of the uterus (womb), usually in one of the fallopian tubes.

Ectopic pregnancy could be difficult to diagnose because symptoms often mirror those of a normal early pregnancy. These could include missed periods, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, or frequent urination.

Symptoms can be seen with an ectopic pregnancy:

  • low blood pressure
  • dizziness or fainting (caused by blood loss)
  • vaginal spotting
  • lower back pain
