Motor nerve supply is a nerve that conveys impulses toward or to muscles or glands.
A single motor neuron may innervate many muscle fibres (muscle cells), and a muscle fibre can undergo many action potentials in the time taken for a single muscle twitch (fasciculation).
Motor neurons are classified into three broad categories:
  • Somatic motor neurons
  • Special visceral motor neurons
  • General visceral motor neurons
