Prevertebral Muscles

Prevertebral Muscles are the muscles located between the prevertebral fascia (older definition) and the vertebral column.
The seven cervical vertebrae form the bony framework of the neck. The cervical vertebrae have a lot of joints that allow for movement in several directions, so lots of corresponding muscles help move the neck. They are flexors of the head and neck, innervated by anterior rami of cervical spinal nerves.
