Rotator Cuff Muscles

Rotator Cuff Muscles has the important function for stabilizing the shoulder as well as elevating and rotating of the arm.  It is made up from 4 muscles : 
  • Supraspinatus muscles originates with spine of the scapula and inserts from tuberosity of the humerous.
  • Infraspinatus muscle originates below the spine of the scapula, in the infraspinatis fossa.
  • Teres Minor muscles originates on the lateral scapula border and inserts on inferior aspect of humerus.
  • Subscapularis muscle originates on the anterior surface of the scapula, insert on lesser tuberosity of the humerus.
Rotator Cuff Injuries are commonly causes of shoulder pain, there are 3 common condition that affect the rotator cuff : rotator cuff tendonitis, rotator cuff impingement syndrome and a rotator cuff tear.
