Torticollis is an involuntary contraction of neck muscles, leading to abnormal posture. Most cases are idiopathic; however, one of the common presentations is a patient who has recently begun treatment with neuroleptics or dopamine agonists. Treatment of torticollis and other acute dystonias includes dopamine agonists, anticholinergic/antihistaminic agents, muscle relaxants, or benzodiazepines.
